Trrtrl Gbbng is a sonic bowling ball, polished to a shine and hurtling down the alley, ready to knock your cranial ten pins into next week buster.

So while TG is a busy fella, dropping tapes and CDrs in all the right places, this particular album is slick as goose grease, crunchy as bacon and warm as toast.

You got your tape clutter ffw jam, you got your vocal fry/spoken pony huff, you got your speed-of-thought clank and electronic piss. Things move quickly but with precision; dirty gears meshing into oily cogs that spin and crackle somehow smearing themselves clean.

If you’re an old grey beard (like me) and you crave a bit of fucking peace and quiet (now and again) then like...relax. Like, chill granddad coz Theo peppers this disc with meditative tape wobble and gentle strums. At points a soft voice calls out, recites dead poems and redundant lists. The robotic spiders chant ‘huhhuhuhhhuuhhuhhhuu’ and rub their hairy legs together creating soapy sparks.

It’s all very pretty.

But be assured. If you’ve a taste for the strong stuff, something a bit more candid, then Terry T Gerbs certainly throws open his kimono, pulls out the safety pin, and lobs a pineapple straight into your murky froth-tub. Splosh!
